SAFE TANNING. KNOW THE DANGERS AND USE SUNSCREEN.
We all know that too much sun is dangerous for our skin, but too little and we risk depleting our body of Vitamin D the 'sunshine vitamin' said to help prevent other cancers namely breast, ovarian and colon.
But before you skip off to the beach with glee, consider the 70,000 new cases of skin cncer that are diagnosed each year making it now the most common cancer among those aged 15 to 39 in Britain.
Its not about avoiding the sun at all times, but about getting the right balance and when exposed to the sun, covering up or using the right SPF factor sunscreens.

TOO MUCH SUN IS DEFINITELY A NO-NO, BUT IF YOU'RE CAREFUL SUNLIGHT CAN HELP BUILD RESISTANCE TO SOME CANCERS
Sunshine helps cut the risk of certain internal cancers - including breast, colon and prostrate cancer - a study from Boston University School of Medicine has found. It is thought the Vitamin D synthesised from sun exposure helps activate cancer preventing enzymes in the body.

TOO MUCH SUN CAN BE DANGEROUS BUT SAFE EXPOSURE COULD LOWER RISK OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS. Spending time out in the sun especially in childhood could slash the risk of MS in later life. Researchers have found countries closer to the equator have lower levels of the disease. Scientists believe that Vitamin D synthesised from the sun could help dampen down the overactive immune system linked with MS.
